Product Description

Carbon additives, also called recarburizers, adjust carbon content in gray iron, ductile iron and steel melts. Hyborton’s current development priority is graphitized carbon additive supplied through established Ningxia production relationships.

Product Family Reference

Grade family Key control items Typical selection context
Graphitized carbon additive Fixed carbon, sulfur, nitrogen, ash, moisture, crystallinity and particle size Ductile and gray iron, cleaner carbon input, rapid dissolution and consistent recovery
Calcined carbon additive Fixed carbon, sulfur, ash, volatile matter, moisture and size General foundry or metallurgical carbon adjustment

Process Information Used for Selection

  • Induction, cupola, electric arc or other furnace practice
  • Gray iron, ductile iron or steel grade and target carbon adjustment
  • Maximum sulfur, nitrogen, ash, volatile matter and moisture
  • Charging sequence, melt temperature, agitation and expected carbon recovery
  • Particle-size distribution, quantity, packing and destination

Documents After Grade Confirmation

Available product specification, TDS, SDS, sample COA, size reference and packing information are shared for the selected grade. Batch COA test items are aligned with the contract requirement.

Dissolution and carbon recovery depend on furnace and charging practice. The selected grade, contract limits and batch COA govern supply.
