Microsilica Selection for Oil-Well and Industrial Cementing

Fine silica materials are used in some oil-well and industrial cementing systems to modify strength, permeability, stability or high-temperature behavior. The required product and dosage depend on the complete slurry formulation and downhole conditions.

A general concrete grade should not be substituted without laboratory qualification. Particle form, purity, moisture, bulk handling and compatibility with dispersants, retarders and fluid-loss additives must be evaluated under the expected pressure and temperature schedule.
